Why a pharmacy in Stone Town carries a Turkish name

Our director Nizar Abou Machano studied pharmacy at Ege University in Izmir, Türkiye. He brought the craft — and the name — home to Darajani, where Izmir Pharmacy has grown into a family business with three branches, its own wholesale division and a line of directly imported medicines.

Today customers know us for long opening hours, fair prices and medicine that is in date and in stock — from daily essentials to specialist products.

How late are you open?

Darajani is open until 22:00 most days (Saturdays until 20:30) — later than most pharmacies in Stone Town. Every day, including Sunday.

What are your own imported products?

We import and distribute 14 of our own pharmaceutical lines — from cough syrups to antacids. Ask in store or on WhatsApp for the right option.
